Collaborating with Austin Opera to continue to elevate the arts in Austin, Texas.

Reimagining A Night At The Opera.

Sitting at 20,029 feet above sea level, Mount Everest is the highest altitude mountain in the world. And over the last century, it has proven to be one of the most dangerous; claiming the lives of over 200 climbers who have dared to reach its summit. Talbot’s Everest tells the real-life story of one such expedition, in which a group of climbers became trapped and were forced to fight for survival as a fierce storm brewed and raged around them.

In order to provide context and properly usher the audience into the beginning of the story, we created an augmented reality “living program”. As opera goers took their seats and waited for the show to begin, they could point their phones at their printed programs to bring them to life with an overlaid AR trailer that set the scene for the harrowing journey to come.

Bringing Print To Life.

Opera goers were able to use the Austin Opera app to bring their programs to life. THey could watch an augmented reality video setting the stage for the epic opera they were about to watch.

Continued Collaboration.
